Notes for Allen Cameron Everitt MURRAY
Information received from Peter Murray in 1997 shows that Allen Cameron
Everitt Murray, "Lal," born October 18, 1901, served in the South African
Air Force (ground staff) during World War II. He later lived in
Rhodesia. In his retirement he was living as of 1980 with his son George
in Natal, but he died soon afterwards in about 1982. He was married
first to Unita Thorburne, "Nita," but was divorced; and she then married
his brother Roger Hi-Regan Everitt Murray, "Rory." Lal was married for
the second ime to Johanna Maria Lotter, "Lottie," who was born in 1904
and died in 1953. Many years later he married for the third time, but
his wife died 18 months after the marriage. Lal Murray had three
children.
His oldest son, John Brian Thurtell Murray, was his son by Nita. John
was legally adopted by his uncle and stepfather, Rory. David Everitt
Murray and George Lindsay Everitt Murray were his sons by Lottie.
