Notes for Arthur Luscombe MURRAY

Information received from Peter Murray in 1997 shows that Arthur Luscombe
Murray, "Tubby," was born in 1910 and received his Bachelor of Arts
Degree from the University of Cape Town. He took a leading part in many
public affairs. He was Mayor of Graaff Reinet, South Africa, from
September 1973 to September 1976. He was President of the Graaff Reinet
Rotary in 1972. As of about 1980 he and his wife, Mercy Elaine Weir
Murray, were retired and well off and living at 46 Cypress Grove, Graaff
Reinet. Mercy was still alive in December 1995, aged 88, but
unfortunately getting very blind. They had two children.
