Notes for Henry Reeve EVERITT
According to information received from Peter Murray in 1997, Henry Reeve
Everitt, "Nicholas," was a solicitor of Norwich and Lowestoft, and lived
at North Cove Hall, which he sold, and then Broad House, Oulton Broad.
He was born May 22(?) 1867, and died June 28 1928. He married, but the
marriage was anulled, and there was no issue. In addition to his career
as a solicitor, Nicholas Everitt was a British secret service agent,
sportsman, traveller and author of a series of popular books. After his
death, Broad House became a clubhouse in Everitt Park.
Nicholas Everitt (Henry Reeve Everitt) was a relative and friend of Peter
Murray's family, and was a friend and reputed distant relative also of
the Woods family of Blundeston Hall. It was he that first introduced
Peter Murray's grandparents, Everitt Murray and Winifred Woods, on an
impromptu visit to Blundeston from nearby Oulton Broad.
