Thurtell and Related Families
Notes for Aletta Franclena THERON
According to the Thurtell Pedigree, which was done in the 1930's, Aletta
Theron was a widow at the time she married Alfred Henry Thurtell. It
also shows she was a first cousin of General Smuts. In a 1996 letter,
Eric Thurtell said that this was incorrect and that there is no
connection between the Theron and Smuts families.
