Notes for Walter Everitt MURRAY

Walter E. Thurtell is shown as unmarried in the big family tree done by
Harriet Thurtell about 1900. According to information received from
Peter Murray in 1997, Walter Everitt Murray, "Wallie," born January 22,
1865, died June 6, 1936. He was a farmer and changed farms constantly,
first in Graaff Reinet district, then Middleburg, two or three in the
Orange Free State, and finally in the Queenstown district. He was very
tall, 6'4" and weighed 250 pounds, while his wife Reda was 4'10" and
weighed 95 pounds! He married October 18, 1918, Gundreda Mary Warren,
"Reda," born November 4, 1884. They had three children.
