Louisa Thurtell is buried in Guelph, Ontario, Canada. Her gravestone
shows Louisa Thurtell died August 9, 1848, aged 19 years.
The notice in the "Guelph Advertiser" of August 11, 1848, shows "Died -
On the 9th inst., at the house of Mr. Baker, Louisa, daughter of Benjamin
Thurtell, Esq., J.P., of this township, aged 19 years. - Cut off at an
age when the world is just opening to view, with all its charms and
promises of future enjoyment, whilst its cares and sorrows only occupy
the back ground, it required nothing less than Grace from on high to
enable her to express a wish to depart, which was the case some days
before death put an end to her sufferings."
The 1998 LDS British Isles Vital Records Index CD shows Louisa Thyrtle,
daughter of Benjamin Thyrtle and Anne, was born in Gisleham and
christened on February 8, 1829, as recorded in the Bishop's Transcript
for Suffolk County, England (FHL number 918514).
