Charlotte Thurtell was born August 15, 1801, and was baptised September 6, 1801, at Hopton, Suffolk County, England. The family tree done by Harriet Thurtell about 1900 showed that she died unmarried.

The picture below is from the collection of George Thurtell and shows that Charlotte apparently changed her last name to Murray, as did several of the other relatives. It shows she died in Liverpool, England, on June 13, 1861.

It was reported that she was quite a noted woman who held finishing classes for girls.
