Notes for Fred Cady FOLTS

The entry about Ransom B. Folts in a 1901 Grant County, Wisconsin, biographical record shows his brother, Fred C. Folts, was "born in New York, enlisted in Company I, 3rd Wis. V. I., served three years in the Army of the Potomac, and saw much hard fighting. He married Miss Jennie Wilson, of Grant county, settled in Iowa, and engaged in milling. He died in 1889, leaving a widow and six children, who settled in Wisconsin."

The Wisconsin marriage index shows Fred C. Foltz was married on March 6, 1871, in Grant County, Wisconsin, and records are in Volume 5, page 136, Sequence 06931.

He is shown as Cady F. Foltz in the records of the Wisconsin Veterans Museum, 30 West Mifflin Street, Madison, Wisconsin 53707-7843, e-mail REFDESK@@mail.state.wi.us.
