Information received from Peter Murray in 1997 showed that William Kilian was the husband of Alice Thurtell. The death notice for Charles Horace Thurtell, who died in Willowmore, South Africa, on March 21, 1917, showed that Gertrude Alice Thurtell, the daughter of Charles Horace Thurtell, was married in community of property to Willem Johannes Hendrik Kilian.
