Notes for Betsey MORRISON

Abraham Morrison and his family are listed on page 177 of the 1860 U.S. Census for Groton, Caledonia County, Vermont, which was enumerated June 28, 1860. He is shown as Abram Morrison, a male age 66 born in Maine, whose occupation is a farmer and whose real estate looks like it is worth $1500 and whose personal property appears to be worth $350 or $550 - these numbers are hard to read. Living with him, all born in Vermont, are Frank Morrison, age 32; C. C. Crown, a male farm laborer age 35; Betsey Crown, age 39, Orrin Crown, a male age 6 who attended school in the prior year; Sabrina Crown, age 4; and Melissa, age 30. No last name other that the assumed Crown is shown for Melissa, but this is almost certainly Melissa Morrison, the new bride of B. Frank Morrison, since the census record shows that Frank Morrison and Melissa had been married within the year.
