Notes for John BROWNE

Information received from Peter Murray in 1997 showed that John Browne of Lowestoft and Blundeston, Suffolk County, England, was the eldest son of Robert and Elizabeth Browne. He was baptised at Lowestoft May 10, 1732, and buried there March 13, 1773. We may wonder if he was ill for some time before his death, for on the death of his father in 1771 it appears that his younger brother Robert, and not he, took over affairs at the Lowestoft China Factory. John Browne married at Lowestoft, April 21, 1757, Mary Skoulding, daughter of Samuel and Mary Skoulding of Lowestoft.

Information received from Julie Bruhl in April 2000 showed that John Browne was a blacksmith and that he was baptised May 10, 1732, at St. Margarets, Lowestoft, Suffolk, England.
