The 1920 U.S. Census for Cook County, Illinois (Vol. 93, ED 1447, Sheet 14, Line 19) shows Gertrude Thurtell, age 30, and her daughter, Lois Thurtell, age 7, were living with Lois Thurtell's stepfather, James Kryger, who was age 36 and born in Michigan. The family was living at 1408 Argyle, Chicago, Cook County, Illinois.
