Notes for Sarah BROWNE

Information received from Peter Murray in 1997 showed that Sarah Browne was born about 1789, since she was 62 at the time of the 1851 census. According to Robert Browne of the South African branch of the family, the Sarah Browne who married Edward Thurtell was the daughter of Robert and sister of John Browne of Norton Hall. Her husband was therefore her first cousin.
