Notes for Edward Alexander MILLER

The 1963 Thurtell Family History and the History of the Thurtell Family done by Susan Persia Thurtell about 1968 show that Edward Alexander Miller was a physician in Berrien Springs, Michigan, for many years. He and his wife moved to Seattle, Washington, in May 1963, according to a letter from Dr. James Walter Miller to Susan Persia Thurtell Miller dated April 10, 1977.

The Grand Traverse County, Michigan, marriage record index on the internet in October 1999 at http://www.tcnet.org/cgi-bin/marriseek.pl shows that Edward A. Miller and Evangeline Thurtell were married in 1911 and that the record of their marriage is in Liber 4, page 025.

The Social Security record for his Social Security number 375-46-2595 shows that Edward Alexander Miller was born December 12, 1884, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and that his parents were Emma Sopp and George W. Miller. Neither Dr. Edward A. Miller nor his wife ever applied for Social Security benefits, since none of Dr. Miller's work was covered under Social Security. Medical doctors were first covered under Social Security in 1965.

A letter from Dr. James Miller to Susan Miller dated February 25, 1998, stated that both Edward and Eva Miller were cremated and their cremains are in an urn at the Acacia Mausoleum, 14951 Bothellway NE, North Seattle, Washington.
