The Thurtell family tree done by Harriet Thurtell about 1900, the 1963 Thurtell Family History, and the History of the Thurtell Family done by Susan Persia Thurtell about 1968 show Alfred Thurtell was married to Olive, and that she was also called Ollie.

The 1900 U.S. Census soundex for Illinois (Vol. 28, E.D. 280, Sheet 14, Line 49) shows Olive H. Thurtell, age 34, born in Michigan in January 1866, living with her husband, Alfred Thurtell, and their son, Earl Thurtell, at 918 S. Spaulding Avenue, Chicago, Cook County, Illinois. Mary Foley, relationship servant, age 24, born in March 1876 in Ireland, was also living with them.

Records of Montrose Cemetery, 5400 North Pulaski, Chicago, Illinois 60630, 773-478-5400, show Olive (Hall) Thurtell was buried there October 1, 1931, in Lot 201, Woodlawn Section.

Her death certificate shows her name as Olive Thurtell Hall, born in Alpena, Michigan, on January 27, 1866, and that she died on September 29, 1931, at 6404 North Oakley Avenue, (Registration District 3104, Ward 2), Chicago, Cook County, Illinois. The informant was her husband, Howard S. Hall, who was living at 6404 North Oakley Avenue, Chicago, Illinois. It shows her father's name as Hugh Daly and her mother as unknown.
