Notes for Richard Nicklin THURTELL

The family tree done by Harriet Thurtell about 1900, the 1963 Thurtell Family History, and the History of the Thurtell Family done by Susan Persia Thurtell about 1968 show Richard Nicklin Thurtell was a druggist in Leeswater, Ontario, Canada.

The information obtained from Charlotte Angst Mackie in 1997 shows that Richard Nicklin Thurtell was apprenticed as a druggist in Ingersoll and Guelph and was then a druggist in Ingersoll.

The Canadian County Atlas Digital Project found on the internet in May 2000 (http://imago.library.mcgill.ca/countyatlas) shows that in the 1880 Atlas R. N. Thurtell, born in 1855 in Canada, was a druggist who settled in 1875 and was living in the town of Teeswater, with a Post Office at Teeswater, in the township of Culross, Bruce County, Canada.

The Halton Local History index on the internet (http://spartan.hhpl.on.ca/localhistory/forms.htm) shows that the February 2, 1882, "Acton Free Press" carried a news article about Mr. R. N. Thurtell on page 3, column 2, and a marriage notice about him on page 2, column 3.
