All of the information about John Lewis and his descendants was received in February 2000 from Michèle Muhlinghaus-Christophe. Her records show he was born in St. Albans, Hrt, Hertfordshire, England, on June 20, 1815, and that he was mayor of St. Albans for several years. Her information confirms that he and his wife had six children, but she only had names for three of them. Additional information received from her in March 2000 showed that there is a plaque to commemorate his term as mayor of St. Albans in the Town Hall there.
