Louisa Thurtell was born in Malden,
Massachusetts, as verified by her birth certificate. She married Wilbur Cook,
and they lived most of their married life in Chicago, Illinois. After his death
in 1920, she moved to California, where she lived the rest of her life. She
died December 31, 1948. "Aunt Louie" never had children, but was remembered
with affection by her nieces and nephews.
The photo of her as a young woman is from the collection of Charlotte Mackie.
The photo of her as an adult is from the collection of RobRoy (Sandy) McGregor
and was taken in 1915.
